Charles L. Cohen

I am Professor of History and Religious Studies at UW-Madison, and Director of the Lubar Institute for the Study of the Abrahamic Religions. I specialize in colonial British North America, early American religious history, the history of the Woodlands Peoples, 1500-1800, and the braided history of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. My wife, Christine Schindler, is Senior Undergraduate Advisor, Emerita, having spent 23 years at UW. Our daughter, Amber Cohen, graduated from Oberlin College in East Asian Studies and completed her M.A. in American Studies at the College of William and Mary. She works at Half Price Books in Madison.
