Charles L. Cohen

I am E. Gordon Fox Professor of American Institutions at UW-Madison, and former Director of the Lubar Institute for the Study of the Abrahamic Religions. I am a member of the Department of History and the Religious Studies Program, specializing in colonial British North America, early American religious history, the history of the Woodlands Peoples, 1500-1800, and the braided history of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. My wife, Christine Schindler, is Senior Undergraduate Advisor, Emerita, having spent 23 years at UW. Our daughter, Amber Cohen, graduated from Oberlin College in East Asian Studies, completed her M.A. in American Studies at the College of William and Mary, and is married to Christopher Luther.
